MasterUp: Immersive technology at the service of role-playing games

MasterUp is an innovative project developed by AR Market that combines WebAR technologies and physical components to revolutionize tabletop role-playing sessions.

We have created a comprehensive digital platform – MasterUp Studio – that allows Dungeon Masters to manage campaigns like directors: the software (available via web/app) offers immersive storytelling tools with interactive maps in Augmented Reality, visual/preloaded assets, and multimedia support, all accessible directly from the browser without the need for additional apps. Players can thus experience unique adventures, viewing creatures and settings in AR on the game table via smartphone.

At the same time, AR Market oversaw the development of the official MasterUpGame.com website, designed both as an interactive showcase and an e-commerce platform. The site presents the Dungeon Master Collection—a line of portable, magnetic, and highly immersive physical products—and allows for pre-orders with international shipping. In particular, we designed the Magic Screen (in a portable Basic version and a Pro version with an integrated 23″ HD monitor and Bluetooth speaker) which acts as the Master’s screen augmented with digital content. We also developed the modular magnetic Game Whiteboard for drawing maps (which can be used vertically with magnetic tokens) and a collection of over 800 custom tokens with magnetic cases and a Token Collection Book to organize them.

The project is completed by a line of merchandise dedicated to fans: from branded T-shirts to personalized dice sets, every detail reflects the MasterUp aesthetic and allows players to express their passion even outside the game. All these physical elements were designed and produced by AR Market in synergy with the digital platform, creating a cohesive ecosystem where WebAR technology and tangible materials come together for a truly unforgettable gaming experience.
